Man faked his death while Kayaking, leaving behind his family and flee to Europe with $375K he took out of his insurance policy

A man has faked his death and went in to leave his family behind before traveling abroad without anyone’s knowledgeable.

Interestingly, his relocation to Europe was funded by a $375K he took out of his insurance.

According to the New York Times The authorities spent weeks searching a Wisconsin lake for the man’s body.

They later discovered that he had moved money into a foreign bank account and had been communicating with a woman in Uzbekistan.

Mr. Borgwardt, 45, a husband and father of three from Watertown, Wis., was reported missing on Aug. 12.

He was declared missing  after he went fishing in his kayak on Green Lake, about 65 miles southwest of Green Bay, said Mark A. Podoll, the Green Lake County sheriff.
