France president, Macron’s statement on the western world letting their hands off Africa is an interesting one that highlights his m,entality about Africans.
Macron is reported to have said that now is not the time to leave Africans to manage their affairs.
the French president made a bold claim that history shows the played a crucial role in bringing Africa to it’s current state in terms of the little developments the continent witnesses today.
Macron arghued that there ios still much work for them (French) to do in the continen t to help their development process that will be jeopardize shopiuld incase their relation comes to en end today.
“If we leave African countries to manage on their own, now is not the time. Africa remains the least developed continent, and history shows we have a role to play in supporting its growth. A complete withdrawal could halt progress. There is still much work for us to do in Africa, and we believe they are not fully ready to thrive without our involvement,” – he said
There has been tension surrounding the existence of French troops in some African countries, having gained much influence on their decision-making.
Countries such as Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali, now ruled by millitarry juntas have are highly against the exixtense of France in their countries.
France remains the larghest millitary presence in africa and also have control over some of their natural minerals but i8t seems most African leaders are awake now and forcing the french out so they can manage thneir own affairs.
